About The Central Park Testing Site — Now Closed
The now-closed COVID-19 Testing Site and Primary Care Clinic was an extension of the Edmonds Urgent and Primary Care Centre. The site was in operation from March 28, 2020 to April 18, 2021 and accepted referrals from a secure online booking form, from family doctors and from community agencies.
The site provided drive-through COVID-19 testing, flu vaccination and clinical assessment, and included two fully equipped exam rooms for primary care visits. The site was staffed by a Family Physician, nurses, MOAs, clinical coordinators and site navigators. It also served as one of four designated testing sites for Health Care Workers in the Fraser region. The Central Park site location was generously donated by the City of Burnaby, and was designed and developed by the PCN partners — the Burnaby Division of Family Practice, Fraser Health and the City of Burnaby — who shared start-up and operating costs.
COVID-19 testing in Burnaby is now being conducted by Fraser Health out of a larger site, based at British Columbia Institute of Technology’s Burnaby campus. A new COVID-19 immunization clinic was also opened at Fortius in April of 2021.
